Scrap Stuff

I've been a bad blogger this week. After 3 posts in 2 days all about school I was a little burnt out. I have a bunch of pictures on the camera to post, hopefully in the next couple days I will get to them. For now, here are a few LOs I've done for my CTs this week...

This one is with Britt's new template pack, Wide Open Spaces. It's an awesome pack, one of my faves I think! I plan to use it for many more LOs!!

And this is with Andilynn's new kid Hot August Nights. This is something a little different for me, I'm still not 100% sure I love it, but I think it shows off a lot of the fun things in the new kit.

...And a Preschooler (picture overload)

R's first day was today. He was SO excited!! He got himself dressed this morning (even his shirt and socks, which he always says he can't do) and he was just so cute. We took M to school first and then I took him to school. When we were walking in he said, "is this REALLY my school?!?" He was so cute!! He went right in and put his stuff in his cubbie and then sat down to play palydough. He's such a big boy now.

At the end we had some fun in her new Hannah Montana shirt (and Mommy had some fun post possessing this one!)

We went into the eye doctor here last week. We saw her old doctor who is in a small office right in town. Her rx hasn't changed, but her glasses are so scratched up and not staying put on her little nose anymore, so we're getting new ones anyway (and paying out of pocket... oy!). We had them order some little plastic frames and they came in yesterday so we went to try them on after school. They are so cute! They wanted to make sure she liked them before they sent them off to the lab, so we should get them sometime next week. We went with the lighter and scratch-resistant lenses, so hopefully they'll stay on a little better than her last two pairs have!

A couple first day funnies

I just picked M up from school and I was asking her about her day. She told me she ate lunch at the "lunch buffet" (instead of cafeteria), and then she said they got to "meet the prisoner." I asked her what she was talking about and she says, "you know, the thing Nana is." (ohhh... the PRINCIPAL). lol
Other than that she pretty much said they ate snack outside, played on the playground twice, and did lots of other stuff that she forgets now. She had fun though.

I have a Kindergartener

M started kindergarten this morning. She did pretty well. She was super excited all weekend, but when we got there she got shy. We hung out for a while, I wanted to wait until the teacher started class, but after waiting a while we decided to go. She knew one of the little boys in her class, but none of the kids she went to preschool with the year before were there except the one boy (who's grandparents also use to live across the street from us).
I'm glad today is an early day, I cannot wait to pick her up and find out how her day went!

I convinced her to let me take pictures of her in all her new school clothes yesterday. Here's one (same outfit as today)... I'll see if I can get some more posted later, she's hard to get pictures of!

Tomorrow I'll be doing it all over again with R. He's pretty excited to go to preschool!

Just hanging out

I've been quite this past week. We're all fighting off something, and we've been tried. Nothing too exciting going on... The kids start school next week. I'm hoping to take some pictures of M in all her school clothes this weekend, we'll see...

Britt has a new kit out today, it's called Fairchild. For this week only if you buy the kit you will automatically get this super cute brag book with your DL! I did one of the pages (the yellow with the hanging 3x frame), it was my first quick page, and it was fun. :)

This is such a cute kit! Here's what I did with it this week...

I'm planning on using it again for some back to school pages next week, but it matched M's outfit so well I had to use it for her last day too.

I took some pictures of the kids playing in Piz and Papa's (my parents) pool last weekend, but I have yet to edit them. I looked at them quickly when I loaded them onto the computer and it looks like I got some good ones. I will post some later. :)

Ahh... A Nap

Not for me, but the next best thing... R finally got too tired to skip nap today and he's in a MUCH better mood now.

I got a LO done today too! I've been so tired and have had such a creative block all week, I felt like I couldn't get anything scrapped. I decided to do the scraplifting challenge over at SM, and I'm very happy with the page I did (and the fact that I actually finished a page and I like it!).

The kids went to the dentist yesterday and they both did great! No cavities or problems for either of them.

I forgot to post earlier, but M went upstairs at church last weekend for the first time. For some reason that seems like a big deal to me.

Not much else to report. Matthew's been in Redding, he's coming home tonight, but it sounds like he's going to have to go back again next week.
The kids start school in just over a week. eek!!

No more naps

R didn't nap again today. I think that's it for naps from him. I guess I really shouldn't be complaining, I was going to have to drop his nap most days in a few weeks anyway when M starts school. She'll get out of school right in the middle of nap time 4 days a week. I'm just really tired and I wasn't ready for this yet! Hopefully he'll at least go to bed better soon!

I'm still exhausted and the kids gave me their cold. I'm spending most of my time laying on the couch watching the Olympics, I just hop online for a few minutes at a time to check my boards and blogs. I can't wait until I feel well enough to scrap again!!

Not Too Smooth Today

I'm so exhausted! The whole paci thing didn't go so well today. He was fine until nap time, and then he started whining and crying that he wanted a bobi. He was asking if we could go buy some after nap and just would not let it go. No nap today, and he was SO tired by 5. I got the kids dinner a little early and had R in bed before 7, but I don't think he went to sleep until almost 9. Matthew's working late, and I'm so tired of dealing with it. I know it's hard for him, but I feel like I'm getting a cold and I'm tired!! I sure hope this gets easier soon!!

"No bobi's left"

The paci's are gone, no thanks to me doing anything about it. R just came out after going potty for the 3rd time tonight to tell us that there are "no bobi's left." Yep, he dropped his last one in the potty, and it's happened enough that he knows they go in the garbage after that happens. He told us and then headed into bed without a fight. I wonder if he's in there sucking his thumb or fingers? I haven't checked yet. Seems like it was a little too easy. No bobi fairy, no trading them in for a toy, just let them all fall in the potty. LOL
*sigh* I think I might cry though. No more baby for me. :(

Finally!!

The new Scrap Matters is finally up and running (isn't it CUTE?!? Britt made all the decorations for it!). Now I can share with you all what I've been doing all week. :)

8 Years

Today is our 8 year anniversary. Some years we get to our anniversary and say something like "I can't believe it's been that long already!" This year it seems like we've been saying "it will be 8 years this summer" for so long that 8 years doesn't seem new today. Not that we're not excited to reach another year, it just feels like it's already been 8 years.
Anyway... I thought it would be fun to post a few pictures of us from way back when. These are scans that I'm pulling off of shutterfly, so they're not the greatest quality, but they're still fun to look at.

This was Homecoming our Senior year, we had just started dating less than a week before this picture was taken.

I think this one is from a few months before our 1 year anniversary. It was taken at the Opryland Hotel in Tennessee when we went to visit my grandparents.

Gosh we were young! lol

We already did our big weekend when we went to Alan Jackson and the Giants. Usually we do a Giants game later in August or September to celebrate, but we probably won't be going back down this year. Tonight we'll go to dinner and a movie.

To Infinity And Beyond...

Today I decided to take a couple (60) pictures of R in this Buzz costume we found on clearence after Halloween last year. Here's one of my favorites, he's such a little nut. More to come...

I ordered some fun little business cards a couple weeks ago and they came yesterday. They're cute! One side is just a picture, and the other has my info on it. I love that I could order more than one different picture too, so they're not all the same. The only problem is now I don't want to give them away. lol

I've been scrapping a ton for my CTs, but nothing new to post yet. Friday is the big re-opening at ScrapMatters, so I will post everything I've done after that. There are some great things coming out Friday! :D

One from the Alan Jackson concert. For those who have never been to a concert at Konocti, it's so pretty there! The stage is set up with the lake right behind it, just a nice view!

On Wednesday it was actually sunny here (opposed to the fog we've been having too much of), so my mom and I took the kids to the beach for a little bit...

I had forgotten how fine the sand is here. It was windy there, and we all had sand everywhere!

I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep this camera. I'm kind of leaning towards not... I don't expect it to be as good as my SLR, but I'm just not liking it as much as I thought I would. It's smaller, and has more MPs than my old P&S, but I really can't see much of a difference. I'm thinking I may return it and go ahead and spend the extra on the P&S that I really wanted. Now let's just see if I can talk Matthew into that... lol

I've been working on a bunch of fun LOs for my CTs this week, but I don't have much to show you as most of what I've done is for kits that won't be out until the 8th. ScrapMatters is having a huge reopening party (and sale) that starts that day, so be sure to stop by and check out all the fun and great new kits!!

I'm watching the Giants game, it's the bottom of the 10th, we actually got the lead this inning, and now Wilson is making sure to give us an adrenalin filled finish. Oy...

Oh yeah... BLUEBERRIES!! We have two blueberry bushes out front that we've really been enjoying. The kids and I will go pick them every few days, but today Matthew helped us, and we have a TON! I think I better find something to make with some of them, we're never going to eat them all before they go bad. Anyone have anything fun to make with blueberries becides the standard muffins or pancakes?

Woohoo, double play and we win! It's always dramatic when Wilson is pitching.

Okay, off to bed now...
