Summer List 2011

We still have 3 weeks left of school, but we went ahead and made our summer list after school today anyway. Matthew and I have already decided that we need to think of summer as being from Memorial Day through Labor Day and not just the time the kids are out of school, or it seems really short. I actually bent that "rule" a little more to be able to cross the Giants game off the list, but I think it works. :)

There's more on there this time than there was last year, so we'll see how well we do with it. I'll post the finished one again at the end of the summer.

Wow, I really can't write in a straight line. lol

Start of the week Stuff

It's Tuesday, I know. We were in Redding for the long weekend, and got to enjoy one day of nice weather between the hail, sleet, and rain. It's the last day in May and we're all wearing long sleeved shirts, still. I'm so tired of this weather! Looks like R's last week of t-ball will be rained out, and I still haven't managed to bring my camera to one game this year.
I don't have much of a menu planned for the week, but I'm not sure we'll even have time to eat dinner a few nights this week, so maybe it doesn't matter?

Menu:
Monday- taquitos, pulled from the freezer (yey for doubling the recipe last time!)
Tuesday- English muffin pizzas
Wednesday- pasta with meat sauce
Thursday- ??
Friday- breakfast
Saturday- ??
Sunday- cornbread chili casserole

To-Do's:
Monday- drive home, unpack, do laundry...
Tuesday- grocery store, post office to get the kids' soccer registration in on time, t-ball for R (most-likely canceled due to rain)
Wednesday- worship practice for M (need to call today to double check on that so I don't end driving in only to find out it's canceled, which is what happened last week), open house at the kids' school (and this year we get to visit 2 K classes, 4 1st grade classes, 2 2nd grade classes, and 2 3rd grade classes)
Thursday- dress rehearsal for M's dance (costume, hair, and make-up must be done and she has to be there 1 hour after school gets out), t-ball for R
Friday- class photos for M's dance (costume, hair, and make-up must be done and she has to be there 1 hour after school gets out)
Saturday- softball for M, decorating for dance for me, M's dance
Sunday- church, Costco

Somewhere in there I really need to find time to help R write his thank you notes from his birthday in April. The list is still stuck to the side of my fridge mocking me every time I walk by it.

Three more weeks and they'll be done with all of that stuff, and out of school for the summer. I cannot wait for the break!!

Menu and stuff

My week has been totally thrown off by the fact that we were gone last weekend and will be gone again this weekend. I'm kind of winging it for the week, but here's what I have...

Monday- mac-n-cheese for the kids, cereal for me (Matthew was out of town)
Tuesday- personal pizzas (never got to it last week)
Wednesday- crock pot salsa chicken, probably in quesadillas
Thursday- crock pot chicken nachos
Friday- ???

To-Do's
Monday- pick up tickets for M's dance (stood in line with 3 kids for 45 minutes, fun!), softball for M (coach didn't show up, and they decided to have the girls start pitching mid-season, nobody on either team was able to score a run, it was awful!)
Tuesday- grocery shopping, t-ball for R
Wednesday- worship practice for M, Costco, NOTHING during dinner time!!
Thursday- softball for M, t-ball for R (at the same time)
Friday- field trip service project for M (N and I are tagging along), dance for M, off to Redding/lake

Giants Game

We took the kids down to a Giants game last weekend. It was N's first game, and he did slightly better than he does at the kids' softball and t-ball games. lol It was a lot fun, but Matthew and I are definitely looking forward to going back without them soon! We did have fun though, it's always exciting to see those things through your kids eyes.

N when we first got there...

Group shot with Matthew's mom and Zack

Watching Wilson warm up (even though he was never needed, Timmy threw a complete game!)

M was really excited to see Wilson!!

R was hungry. :)

WOOHOO!!

We also go to see my dad and step mom (also at the game) and our niece and her boyfriend yesterday for breakfast, which was really fun! We hit up Ikea before we came home to pick up some shelves. I love that store and I wish I could win a $5000 shopping spree (anyone know of a giveaway??), how fun would that be!?! :)

I'll be back with the menu for the week later, I'm not completely on top of things today, but hopefully tomorrow.

N at 20 Months

I just wanted to do a post about N and at this age so I don't forget all the fun things he's doing. We had a little impromptu photo shoot this afternoon after his nap, and I was just thinking about how much I love this age.

At 20 months...
He loves his pacifier, but is getting use to leaving it in his crib once he's woken up all the way.

He loves hats, and his favorite by far is his Giants hat that was recently passed down from R; I've never seen a toddler keep a hat on his head like N does.

He also has R's old baseball glove, and loves to wear that as well.

He loves baseballs, preferably M's pink one.

He is silly and loves to make us laugh.

He loves the "amote" and thinks it's great when he actually gets ahold of one long enough to change the channel on the TV (even when the Giants game is on).

His favorite thing to do is still to go "out-ide", he would play out there all day long if I let him.

He loves to grab the phone and pretend to call daddy.

He loves to get his hands on anything he's not supposed to have, and will take any opportunity he can to do so.

He's starting to enjoy being read to, his favorite book is the "broccoli-ew" book (Sandra Boyton's Hey Wake Up), and he laughs every time the "broccoli stew, ew" line is read.
He loves his brother and sister, and has so much fun running around playing with them.
He loves to walk everywhere now and I'm constantly hearing "I walk" whenever I try to carry him.
He loves bath time, and loves to splash at the end.

I love this age, he's learning new things all the time, and is talking so much now. He is such a fun little boy, and I'm really enjoying my time with just him while the kids are in school. :)

Monday Menu

I had my menu done yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to post it until now...

Menu:
Monday- Tortelline Spinach Bake in Creamy Lemon Sauce I did just make this Saturday, but I'm making it again for my mom for Mother's Day, and I'm going to add some leftover sausage from last night
Tuesday- BBQ leftovers
Wednesday- ??
Thursday- Pizza Rolls with leftover bbq sausage and pineapple
Friday- BLTs
Saturday- party food
Sunday- taco pie

To-Do's:
Monday- grocery shopping, Mom here for dinner
Tuesday- t-ball for R
Wednesday- worship practice and softball for M
Thursday- doctor's appointment for me, t-ball for R
Friday- Dance for M
Saturday- FIL's b-day party
Sunday- church, Costco, ect

Other Things I Want To Get Done:
declutter everything!
exercise daily
decorate shelves
order pictures
buy soap and lotion (free)
make desserts for party
Have kids make decorations for party
clean up entryway and closet

I feel like I'm falling behind on taking care of the house and myself lately. I've had a cold the last few weeks that has zapped me of energy, and then we were gone part of last week which just made for a weird week. I'm hoping I can get back on track this week and keep up with it before summer gets into full swing (which it kind of already feels like it is with all we have going on lately).
Okay, off to exercise while N is napping. :)
