It was so nice today. After A went home N and I went out to pick some blueberries in the back yard (thanks Dad!!) and we ended up staying out there until almost 7. He had so much fun playing out there, he loves being outside!

Start of the Week Stuff

Summer is here, and even though I haven't actually spent a day at home with just my 3 kiddos I can tell it's here because life is crazy, but in a different way than when it's filled with dance, sports, and homework. I'm looking at my menu for the week, and my lack of menu from last week, and wondering when the next time we'll be home for a whole week will be. Not for a while, that's for sure, but I love it that way. There's always something fun coming up, always family to see or warm weather to be sought out. Anyway, on to this weeks plans...

To-Do's:
Monday- clean bathroom (check!), laundry, grocery store, hardware store, and bank
Tuesday- lazy day with my boy, maybe a little decluttering...
Wednesday- A here
Thursday- A here
Friday- A here, Redding after work to get my big kids

Menu:
Monday- honey lime tilapia, artichoke, and cheddar bay biscuits
Tuesday- Spaghetti, garlic bread, and veggie

School's Out For The Summer!

Tomorrow is the official last day of school, but we won't even be in California by the time school starts, so last day pictures were taken this morning. Goodbye 1st and 3rd grade!
I realized after the fact that I didn't have them stand in the same spot on the porch, so you can't really compare their height, but it's still fun to see these side by side.

Teacher Gifts

We just delivered our teacher gifts, and I almost got a little weepy, especially with R's teachers. Both M and R had them for 1st grade and they are such great teachers. Both kids had amazing teachers this year, but it's a little easier to say goodbye to M's teachers knowing R will probably have them in 2 years. N won't be in school there for a while, so it makes it a little harder to say goodbye (I don't even want to think about how I'll feel going through this with my last).
Anyway, here's what we decided to do this year. I got reusable cups (from Costco) and filled the bottom with plain and peanut butter M&Ms. We wrapped a thank you note from the kids around the straw and then filled it up with Lipton iced tea packets. I printed the cute straw flag toppers from here. The cups came with extra straws, so I taped them to the back of each cup. I thought they looked cuter without the extra straw on there, but I didn't really want 6 extra straws floating around my house.
We did one for each of their teachers (they each have an English and Spanish teacher), the classroom aide, and the wonderful secretary who saved me last week when R got a stacking ring stuck on his finger before school. I couldn't get it off at home, so I brought him into the office and she was able to finally pry it off.

I think they turned out really cute, and the teachers all seemed to really like them.
